    About the Position

    Axiom Millwrighting & Fabrication Inc. is in search of Mechanical Assemblers for a 6-month contract opportunity.

    As a Mechanical Assembler, this position will support important client projects.

    Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembler

    • Assembly of large complex parts such as conveyors as per blue prints, engineering drawings, & written instructions
    • Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form sub-assemblies of finish products using hand and power tools
    • Operate the finished product to test and confirm quality and ensure process and product specifications are met
    • Complete re-assembly and modification as required
    • Understand clear instructions on intricate tasks
    • Have attention to detail on repetitive tasks
    • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established  safety procedures
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area

    Qualifications for the Position:

    To be considered for the position of Mechanical Assembler, a candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

    • Must have at least 1 year experience in mechanical assembly/installation within the Auto- Industry or e-commerce sector
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs
    • Must be open to working at least 60 hours/week with a start time of 6:00am EST
    • Flexible to work any shift structures assigned; weekends, overtime and off shift work
    • A self-starter and a proven team player 
    • Strong work ethic and a problem solver
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, concrete environment
    • Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken)

    Due to the nature of the job, we would require applicants to have the following:

    • Any or all basic hand tools and a tool box
    • Tape measure
    • Band Cutters
    • Standard Wrench Set
    • Set of standard Allen wrenches
    • Square

    What We Offer

    Hourly Wage:

    $25.00 per hour – Overtime paid after working 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week

    Benefits Offered:

    • Paid training  as part of the orientation
    • Per diem of CAD$50 per day (only if travel from current residence outside 150 kilometers of work site)
